A Poem on the Website of the Red Dirt Writers Society
Early Entrance by Beth Stephenson (Apr 2007)
Spring leapt on stage
Costumed in pink and minty green,
But when the audience cheered,
For she was early of her time,
And upstaged winter’s death throes,
She crept shyly back into the wing
And tiptoed out on cue
When she heard the robin sing.
