The Grandeur of God
by Kim Burnham (Jan 2012)

The vast void whispers man is nothing to be won.
And yet God loved this tiny world and sent to us his Son.
Enoch saw The Father and he marveled to behold
The majestic power of all time, weep as a shepherd for his fold.

“He who hath seen me hath seen the father.”
What balm lies in this phrase,
Fills our hearts with joy and wonder,
And lightens burdens all our days.

Jesus fed the thousands, healed the lepers lame and blind.
To the woman brought in sin, he alone was kind.
He wept for Martha’s brother. His life he would restore.
And drew water from a well that one might thirst no more.

Such is the matchless plan of God that Jesus came to Earth
Not to do his will but prove the spirit’s worth.
That the humble and repentant may dare to gaze above
Into the very face of God and know his boundless love.

Be not troubled nor be fearful but be of good cheer.
We are bought from sin and sorrow by mercy’s royal tears.
There, lies sure hope and comfort for God is truly love,
Guiding us to Son and Father in their royal home above.

“He who hath seen me hath seen the father.”
What balm lies in this phrase,
Fills our hearts with joy and wonder,
Lightens burdens all our days.
